Child's play

Although it's been covered several times, and apparently can be traced back to before the 50s for its original tune (and some lyrics), the best known cover of the song came from the soundtrack of Rainman (the song itself had been released several years earlier).

Iko, Iko (cover) - The Belle Stars

And this is usually understood to be the original of the song in its most recognized format:

Iko, Iko - The Dixie Cups

The Belle Stars covered another song around the same time they did the one before:

The Clapping Song - The Belle Stars

The original is, well, just better:

The Clapping Song - Shirley Ellis

And if the name Shirley Ellis doesn't sound quite familiar to you, I will bet you very good money that this other song by her definitely will

The Name Game - Shirley Ellis
