Free to a good home

I'm thinking of putting together a mix just using all the free downloads I've gotten--either as standalone or part of samplers--from Amazon. In the meantime, here are the latest ones that I've got in heavy rotation. I already knew of Iron and Wine (aka Samuel Beam) courtesy of Zach Braff's 'Garden State' (on a side note, I wish Braff would keep a music blog. That would so rock. Even if it was just to list his albums), and Vetiver and Blitzen Trapper are pretty regular on WXPN, so I'd already thrown some (monetary) love their way even before the downloads, but I'm hoping it will get some other people to do so as well. Or at least get them to listen to something new. (The sampler these particular songs can found on, by the way, is by far one of the best I've seen so far--free or otherwise, which is saying a lot because, for some ungodly reason, samplers almost always seem to suck, despite supposedly being the best foot forward for a label/genre to get their name out there.)

Note that the actual free download for Iron and Wine was the song 'Belated Promise Ring', which can't be found on youtube, yet; however, the song I did link--and its video--more than makes up for it. In fact, all three videos are quite enjoyable.

Furr - Blitzen Trapper

Everyday - Vetiver
(Please note albums at 1:49 or so, hee)

Boy With A Coin - Iron And Wine
