Finally, today

I love Concrete Blonde. I love Bloodletting.
And still, I think, for all that love, I may actually now prefer this over the (cover) version on Bloodletting. Strange.

I listened to this song for a couple of years, maybe more, before I found out what it really was about; I always thought it was about having to give up your dreams and facing reality and the truth and the loss of hope, and that the titular Wendy was the Peter Pan one having had to grow up. (Sure, I kind of wondered why Wendy had to go die and not just, say, grow up or old for the sake of the song, but figured maybe that was just to pack a punch about not being to live forever in fantasyland. Sometimes I kind of like my own interpretations, even after I learn the real inspiration behind the song, you know?)

Tomorrow, Wendy - Andy Prieboy (with Johnette Napolitano)
