One day more

Key points:

TPN secured for tonight and tomorrow.

My sister--Rock Start Jr. , as I call her--got my mom--Rock Star Sr.--to swallow some pureed apple and cream of wheat today, before we got there in the afternoon.

The visit went as well as could be expected. My dad means well, but never has--and at this point never will--learned how to phrase encouragement for those closest to him so it's actually, well, encouraging and not depressing ("The patient next door worse off...". I overlook this because I also see how he looks at my mom as if his very own life is slowly snubbed out in front of him). My mom cried more in the space of a few hours than I've seen her do in several years. Everyone else--including me--tripped up a few times, either fumbling along for words or sporting horribly cheery falsettos. Overall, it was a good visit, though, even if the ride back home will go down in the annals as one of most white knuckled ones ever (and, believe me, I have had some doozies on NJTP/I-295 etc.)

Tomorrow my aunt's holding down the fort all day, while my sister gets some well deserved rest (I hope) and I tend to some things locally. Monday...well, that's 24 hours away.
