Stop and smell the flowers

I know I've talked about this particular song a few times before, but it's been as part of a playlist and I think it may have gotten lost in the shuffle. Also, there was never a copy up on youtube, which meant the attractive option of clicking on an embedded video wasn't available. Until now (or, well, tonight, when I decided to do one of my random searches).

For a song that is not well known except by people who are fond of British folk rock--or fans of Bias Boshell--it's had a decent number of covers, and by some reputable artists, too. Unfortunately, the one by All About Eve is still nowhere to be found, and I'm still not at the point to buy one of those convert your vinyls into MP3 players. Yet. My birthday's not far off, heh.

The Garden Of Jane Delawney - Trees
Celia Humphris voice is ethereal. Bias Boshell's arrangement is flawless. Musically, this song is flawless.

The Garden Of Jane Delawney (cover) - Francoise Hardy
Hopefully this will whet your appetite for more from this French chanteuse. (If you've seen the movie 'Metroland' or its soundtrack, you're already familiar with her.) I like the slight psychedelic pop twist to it. Also, I am a sucker for the abrupt short e and a sounds French speakers take on, when they sing in English.

The Garden Of Jane Delawney (cover) - Ygdrassil
Only a live version of this, but they're best live, anyway, I'm told, by people in the know.

The Garden Of Jane Delawney (cover) - Dark Sanctuary
Eh. And not even barely that.
