The early to mid-nineties were all about unplugged/acoustic concerts of the some of the biggest acts (Nirvana, Oasis), some of the not so big acts (10,000 Maniacs) and some of the giants of the past (Eric Clapton, KISS) all of whom enjoyed a surge in their [already sky high or non-commercial or barely there anymore] popularity. Oooh, went everybody, would you listen to that? There's actually a voice there! And, lyrics you can listen to! And--can it be--music that actually sings to you, instead of being blasted at you. And look, you can buy [some of] it on a CD!
But the love fell short sometimes and there's one performance I bet you didn't know about, though. So it's my duty to bring the love to you: Roxette's recording for MTV Unplugged at the Stockholm Circus on 1993. (They were the first non-English speaking band invited to do a recording for Unplugged.)
(Don't tell me you don't like them. I know you 'd secretly sing along when it came on the radio.)

Per's go:
Dangerous (unplugged) - Roxette
The Look (unplugged) - Roxette
Marie's go:
Listen To Your Heart (unplugged) - Roxette
Fading Like A Flower (unplugged) - Roxette
P.S. And in the grand tradition of the Pregnancy Phenomenon (i.e. when you're pregnant, suddenly there's pregnant women EVERYwhere), Marie was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in 2002. Several years of chemo and radiation--after surgery--later, it appears she may be in remission, although she has lost the ability to read and write and has blindness in one eye. Proving once again that for the short time it isn't, life is apparently spectacularly sucky for anyone who isn't evil incarnate.
